The Montour High School English Department Course of Study reflects a comprehensive literature based curriculum. The course of study includes both honors, advanced placement (AP), and college in the high school (CHS) courses along with a menu of elective course offerings including; Public Speaking, Modern Fiction, Drama, Argumentation, Journalism, and Print Media Production/Newspaper.

Each of the grade level specific literature based courses reflect curriculum that is aligned to the Pennsylvania State Standards and Grade 11 PSSA Assessment Anchors and Eligible Content in preparation for the PSSA Reading and Writing Grade 11 Assessments.  Course curriculum specific to English Nine and English Ten are aligned to to the Pennsylvania Keystone Assessment Anchors and Eligible Contnet.  

SAT and ACT verbal and writing preparation is available to students via the MHS SAT/ACT Academy.
