Academic Games Team

The Montour High School Academic Games Team allows students to compete against students from other school districts in a variety of educational games that help to further develop what is learned in the classroom.

Practices are normally held after school every Monday and Wednesday where students practice the six different games, which include Linguishtiks (Grammar/English), Propaganda (English/Marketing), Onsets (Math), Equations (Math), Presidents (Social Studies), and World Events (Social Studies – Current Event with two historical theme rounds –this year and next year – Famous Supreme Court Cases).

In Academic Games students travel to regional locations to compete; the top ten percent of the competitors qualify for the National Tournament, which is to be held in Oglebay, West Virginia this Spring.

The Montour High School Academic Games Team sponsor is Mr. Michael Phillips.
