Mathematics

The Montour High School Mathematics Department Course of Study reflects a rigorous and relevant comprehensive curriculum that is vertically articulated as follows: Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus/Trigonometry, Calculus. The course of study includes both honors, advanced placement (AP), and college in the high school (CHS) courses.

Each of the above courses reflect curriculum that is aligned to the Pennsylvania State Standards and Grade 11 PSSA Assessment Anchors and Eligible Content in preparation for the PSSA Mathematics Grade 11 Assessment. Course curriculum specific to Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II are aligned to to the Pennsylvania Keystone Assessment Anchors and Eligible Contnet.  

Students, in need of additional academic support in the area of mathematics, are able to receive such via scheduling time in a Mathematics Learning Lab

SAT and ACT mathematics preparation is available to students via the MHS SAT/ACT Academy.

Courses offered within the Mathematics Department are included within the MHS STEM Academy
